Thailand (Part 2): Chaing Mai Wanderings

After our brief stint in Bangkok, we headed to Chiang Mai, where we spent most of our two week trip. While our visit centered around the annual lantern festival held in November, we also interacted with some relatively exotic animals and enjoyed the city itself. This photo post will focus on our daily walking exploration of this culturally rich and once-walled city. Enjoy!

A wat on every corner (or so it seemed)!

The entire city was decorated in anticipation of the lantern festival!

Delicious food was never hard to find. Here, John enjoys some Pad Thai and a fresh coconut!

Ascending the stairs to Doi Suthep, a wat which overlooks the city.

Motorbike, anyone?

  1. How fun to see the city decorated with the lanterns. Very artistic the way the female motorcyclist's face was captured in her mirror!
