Robot Show!

With the new year upon us, our first opportunity to get out involved a little celebration for Jennifer's birthday (dare we say which one???). We had heard good things about a quirky, "world famous" and quintessentially Japanese "Robot Restaurant", so we took advantage of the occasion to drop JohnPaul off with friends for a few hours and venture into Tokyo's Shinjuku area for the evening. Before our very eyes, an eclectic smorgasbord of choreographed interactions between dinosaurs, aliens, clowns, techno dancers and (of course) robots unfolded. It was certainly a night for the memory books! We'll let the photos do the rest of the talking....

Hanging out by the Robot Restaurant in Shinjuku.

Glow wands provided to enhance the techno effect during certain portions of the show.

No words...

The dinosaur ate the wicked alien queen who was coming to take over the world! (*cough* anime *cough*)

Did we mention minotaurs? Well, they had those too...

Enjoying our front row seats. Moments after this shot was taken, those railings folded out 90 degrees to become a dancing platform.

Only in Japan...

Photo op after the show, complete with hydraulic actuated arms.
