Chase Rice - In Concert!

March 3 was exceptionally fun for us expats here in Japan because Chase Rice paid our base a visit and gave a free concert (actually he went to multiple local bases while in Japan)! Jennifer in particular misses country music so the whole event was a welcome taste of home. Since we've been separated from this music scene for over two years, we weren't as familiar with his music, however were surprised to learn that he wrote the song "Cruise" for Florida Georgia Line, which we definitely remember from our days back in the good ole U.S. of A. Surrounded by friends and against the stunning backdrop of Mt. Fuji at sunset, it's safe to say that everyone in attendance had a fantastic time. Thank you again to all of the artists who do shows for military personnel and their families overseas!

"JohnPaul, get ready for the sounds of your home country!" (even though you've never lived there)

Time to get into the picnic spirit!

Country music lawn concert + Fuji-san in the background = happy place!

Blanket time!

A stroller, toddler puffs and a can of Coors - our base knows how to keep it real :-). (and no, this wasn't ours)

JohnPaul was getting into his chill concert groove.

Jennifer and our friend Chrissy stayed after the concert to get an autograph and picture with Chase Rice himself!
