Tokyo and Farewell

While John's parents returned home several weeks ago, we are reminiscing about all of the fond memories we shared together while composing this final post summarizing their visit. After an amazing trip to Kyoto over the prior weekend, we enjoyed time together at home and headed into Tokyo to see some classic city sights on one of their final days with us. Strolling through the Imperial Palace gardens is a consistent hit and we all laid eyes upon the famous Shibuya crossing for the first time. It's impossible not to become mesmerized while overlooking what must be hundreds of people conquering the same crosswalk at the same time, in every direction. It was also very special to visit Takashimaya, a large Japanese department store founded in 1829, which captured Jean's attention as a young girl in New York City.
