Hakone

Although Jennifer's parents have already travelled safely back to California, our documentation of their wonderful visit with us continues. We took full advantage of the extra sightseeing day afforded us by Memorial Day weekend by heading to Hakone. Famous for an in-water torii gate, hot springs (due to local seismic activity) and spectacular views of Mount Fuji, Hakone is a great escape from the city and is only about a two hour drive from our house. Mount Fuji was unfortunately shrouded in clouds, but we soaked up the other natural beauty of the area by boarding a sightseeing cruise on Lake Ashi. Throw in a scenic drive and a short hike and we were in heaven!

JohnPaul's first nature bathroom experience...at least that's what it became when he decided to pee all over the car during a diaper change!
