Mt. Oyama, Revisited

In other recent sightseeing adventures, we took a scenic drive back to Mt. Oyama, this time with Jennifer's parents. Our faithful readers may remember this as the location of the famed mountain leech debacle of July 4, 2014. Although we believe that the leeches may come out in the rain (the sun was shining this time), we still elected to not take any chances by avoiding the hiking trails this time around. Less than 45 minutes from our house, this area breaks free from the urban sprawl and offers forested mountain roads and breathtaking views of the adjacent river. We also enjoyed some riverside treats at a tea room we had spotted but not visited on our first jaunt to the area. Mom and Dad enjoyed seeing the more lush side of Japan and JohnPaul proved once again to be a trooper and worthy travel companion :-).

A charming café, not to be missed!

Cakes...

...and tea!

A discovery around every bend (yes, this is a two way road)!

Beautiful vistas!

Heeellloooo city!
